loads of fun things in my life lately, but let me encourage you to come visit me (i'm turning travel friday into i-miss-you sunday this week) and get in on the fun by tempting you with three great restaurants i've discovered:
that there's the sage fried chicken and hardwood smoked bacon waffles. literally, the most delicious thing you'll ever eat. it's an obscene amount of food and you will love every bite. EVERY SINGLE BITE. there's now some locations in LV too, but do yourself a favor and come to the beach, will ya? even if it's just for 36 hours. (but if you can't, the hash house gave the food network the recipe, so you can make it too!) you'll have plenty of leftovers, but these are leftovers you won't be nice about sharing. the salmon is also fantastical. nom nom.
that there's the salmon sashimi. literally, the most delicious thing you'll ever eat. and the biggest (to give you some scale, that's as thick as my hand). and the cheapest. $5/5 pieces or $9/10 pieces is unheard of! i don't know how they do it, but it is amazing and you will love every bite. EVERY SINGLE BITE. the super dragon roll is off the heezy foh sheezy also. nom nom.
that there's is not the chicken mole enchiladas, but it's the closest photo the internet had to offer (it's jv's chicken mole bowl). anyway, the enchiladas are literally, the most delicious thing you'll ever eat. that sauce is amazing and you'll wake up craving it in the middle of the night (much like unto chuy's creamy jalapeño). their mole has something like 29 different things in it, but the best, of course, is chocolate!!! and we all know that if it's chocolate, you will love every bite. EVERY SINGLE BITE. the chile relleno is also delightful. wash it all down with some orange bang! nom nom.
san diego is treating us well. not only is the weather perfect and the food delicious, but benny went to the groomer yesterday and got a complimentary blueberry facial and a festive halloween scarf. some would argue that's not very masculine, but my dog smells delicious and looks adorable to boot, so i'm well-pleased.
